This project will provide school fees, uniforms, shoes, school supplies, transportation, and basic living support for 29 vulnerable girls in Malawi who are survivors of abuse. By helping 25 girls attend high school and 4 young women attend college, we will give them the opportunity to continue their education, reduce their vulnerability to future exploitation, and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
Many girls who graduate from our trauma counseling safe home in Malawi return to families living in extreme poverty. Without support for school fees, uniforms, transportation, and supplies, they are at risk of dropping out of school and becoming more vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, early marriage, and poverty. This project will support 29 of the most economically vulnerable survivors in our program, helping them continue their education and build brighter futures.
This project will provide educational support for 25 high school girls and 4 college students in Malawi for one academic year. Funding will cover school fees, uniforms, shoes, supplies, transportation, and basic living support. The girls will also receive ongoing mentorship and encouragement. By removing financial barriers to education, we can help these young women build brighter futures while reducing their vulnerability to future abuse and exploitation.
Educating a girl creates lasting change that extends beyond the individual. The 29 girls supported through this project will gain knowledge, skills, confidence, and opportunities that can help break cycles of poverty and vulnerability. As they continue their education, they can become role models, support their families, contribute to their communities, and inspire younger siblings to pursue education, creating benefits that last for generations.
