Student performances in our four partner schools improved courtesy of our team of volunteers teaching and carrying out targeted mentorship for the children in these schools. With the release of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results, nine of candidates who are our project beneficiaries scored above 350 marks out of the 500 marks. The highest being 402 marks. Five of these students joined national schools early this month.
Our team of volunteers with your support will continue to provide additional support (i.e. providing teaching assistance, distributing reading materials, individually supporting the children in most need through mentorship, and remedial teachings) to the over-stretched teaching staff in these non-formal schools.
We are happy the project is a success as more children finish school with a high level of literacy. The schools performances in both internal and national exams are good and encouraging and we request you to continue donating to this program to grow and reach out to 12 more schools. We envision that by the end of the year we shall have covered the 12 informal schools with our services.
