Dear Well Wishers and Friends of APD,

The Association for People with Disability (APD) is a non-profit organisation based in Bangalore. APD runs the Shradhanjali Integrated School (SIS) since 1973  - that takes in young children with disabilities and transforms their lives.  SIS gives wings to their dreams . SIS has transformed lives of many children &  they have gone on to become successful doctors, IT professionals, engineers and most importantly - Confident and Independent citizens.

Please find below few activities of SIS for the month of  October  2017.

Story telling competition:

Story telling competition  was conducted for 50 students across all classes.    Around 5 students from each class participated and 3 winners from each group were announced.

Parent and Teacher Meeting:

Parents met the concern class teacher and understood the child’s strength and weakness. Parents were taken some initiative to support their children progress. This helped the students to improve in their studies .

Origami competition:

8 Students from each class participated and displayed various paper models. Winners were announced and given away prizes.

Diwali celebration by SSGA corporate:

Children from nursery to VII std were taken to play ground and celebrated Diwali by bursting crackers and distributed sweets and gifts to kids.

Visit from CMR National  Public School:

High school and Higher Secondary students from CMR NPS are doing a project on the topic, ‘Technology for the Disabled’. On this account, 23 students from CMR visited our school and interacted with the children with disability  and teachers.

I will come back very shortly with the report of lot of interesting activities held in the month of November and December.

Best Regards,

Sha Nigar.
