Thank you to all of our donors. We have now raised $1,700 from our target of $2,000. Already 17 children are guaranteed to continue their education due to your kindness. Our child sponsorship programme is quite unique as every child has a bank account which is controlled by the mother. We regularly transfer the money into this bank account. It gives a mother a great sense of pride as she walks into the bank where normally Dalits are stopped at the door. Our mothers also belong to a mothers' self-help groups. Each group has about 20 members. They meet each month and every mother saves every month and can borrow from her group. So in many ways you are helping the child and the family to achieve a better education and ultimately a better standard of living.
