Here are happy children whose education is now guaranteed..They have now joined our sponsorship programme. One of the unique features of our program is that the child will have a bank account in the name of the mother. Money is lodged into this account for the child's education. These accounts are audited and checked to make sure that this does happen.
You have made happy mothers as well. All round the world mothers give up a lot for their children's education. These mother also learn how to manage money. Most of these mothers are illiterate Dalits who would normally not be allowed inside a bank. They walk in proudly with their passbook past the security guard who would normally push them away.
When the child joins our sponsorship programme one of the conditions is the mother must join a mothers self-help group. Each group contains about 20 mothers. They meet every month. They borrow and lend to each other, and within 2 to 3 years each mother will qualify for a loan to purchase a cow or a sewing machine or some other income generating asset.
