In rural Kogi State, many girls are kept out of school due to poverty, early marriage, and lack of resources. Without education, they face limited futures and cycles of poverty continue. This project will provide tuition support, books, and uniforms for 1,500 girls in village schools. With access to classrooms and learning materials, these girls can complete their education and open doors to better opportunities.
In Kogi's rural villages, poverty and cultural barriers prevent many girls from attending school. Families often prioritize boys' education, leaving girls behind. Without books, uniforms, and tuition support, parents withdraw girls from school, exposing them to early marriage and child labor. This cycle limits opportunities for girls and traps families in poverty.
The project will provide tuition, uniforms, and books for 1,500 girls in Kogi villages. By removing financial barriers, parents will be encouraged to keep their daughters in school. Teachers will also engage with families to highlight the value of girls' education. This will allow more girls to attend and remain in classrooms instead of dropping out.
Educating girls will increase literacy, reduce early marriages, and open opportunities for better livelihoods. Families with educated daughters often have improved income prospects and healthier children. Over time, these 1,500 girls will inspire other families to send their daughters to school, creating a ripple effect that strengthens education in rural Kogi communities.
