Our project focuses on Dalits especially Dalit girls in India. We provide shelter, food, education to girls. Besides we provide them reproductive education, vocational training and career guidance.
Dalit women in India suffer from three oppressions; gender as result of patriarchy:class from being from the poorest and marginalized communities;and caste from coming from the lowest, untouchables. Although, discrimination on the basis of caste against Indian constitution and prohibited by many laws, its practice is widespread in rural India Dalits not only grapple with discrimination due to caste hierarchy. But they also live in poverty coupled with all socio-politico-cultural discrimination.
Our Project provides life oriented skills, career guidance, reproductive education along with main stream of education.Educated girls will lead their life dignified way and they will share the experience and knowledge to their families as a model
PADS project will educate 150 dalit girls for five years to making them to rise of illiteracy and ignorance. This will help their families to get social status and social diginity as well. The girls become independant and not dependent on male.
