#lockdown2020How we are supporting our African Angels' Family.
The President of South Africa announced a twenty one day country wide lock down from Friday 28 March to midnight on Thursday 16 April. Non essential businesses have been closed, including schools, and non-essential travel is banned.
Most of our learners do not have their own phones, tablets or computers. In the township wifi access is restricted, and data is expensive to buy. Our parents' ability to 'home school' is limited and parents have limited materials to help their children study with.
In these challenging times, we have been busy supporting our African Angels Community. The infographic attached shows how we are helping.
We'll keep you updated.
As South Africa takes measures to flatten the COVID-19 curve, we'll keep you up to date about our activities to continue our work, from a distance, for now.
We are hopeful that post 16 April schools will resume and we will, carefully, and diligently, return to a routine for the children. However, there is one thing the COVID-19 pandemic has shown us, is that the future is not predictable.
For now we hope you, as part of our African Angels Family, remains safe, wherever you may be.
With gratitude,
Lou Billett, African Angels Chair and co-Founder
