Over the past few months, our team at Nari Mukto Kontho Samajkallyan Songstha (NMKSS) has been preparing the groundwork for our project to improve access to education for children and provide livelihood training opportunities for women in rural communities of Dinajpur District, Bangladesh. Our staff and volunteers have been meeting with local community leaders, parents, and school representatives to better understand the challenges that prevent children from continuing their education and the barriers women face when trying to earn stable income.
Through community consultations and informal household visits, our team has begun identifying families who would benefit most from educational support and vocational training programs. Many households in the target villages depend on seasonal agricultural work, which makes it difficult for parents to consistently afford school materials, tutoring support, or skills training. These discussions are helping our organization design programs that respond directly to the needs of the community.
One of the key priorities during this initial phase has been building trust with families and gathering information that will guide the structure of the training and education activities. Our team is also exploring potential training topics that could provide practical income-generating opportunities for women, while helping ensure that children remain engaged in school.
We appreciate the interest and support that donors have already shown for this project. With continued community engagement and careful planning, NMKSS is committed to creating opportunities that help children continue their education and enable women to strengthen their livelihoods in their communities.
