Our second Cohort of the Bus Scholarship Fund

By Pauline Akinyi | Volunteer Coordinator

We are pleased to share some wonderful news about the growth of our Bus Scholarship Fund this year. Through your continued support, we successfully welcomed our second cohort of scholars — Miriam and Joy.

After a careful selection process, the two young adults officially joined the program and participated in a one-week intensive training held from 8th – 13th September at our offices in Kihoto, Naivasha. Each day was filled with enriching activities as different teams and friends joined us to counsel, mentor, and inspire the scholars. The sessions created a vibrant atmosphere of learning and encouragement, where wisdom was shared, questions asked, and dreams reshaped.

The week turned out to be more than just training — it became a space of hope, laughter, and deep connection. Miriam and Joy shared their stories, their ambitions, and their vision for the future, while mentors spoke life and confidence into them. The interaction was not only fruitful for the scholars but also left all of us present feeling inspired and re-energized.

Both scholars have chosen to pursue their passion in hairdressing and beauty therapy at different institutions. They are determined to use their skills not only to build sustainable careers but also to uplift their communities by creating beauty, confidence, and opportunity for others.

This milestone reminds us that every contribution you make goes beyond funding — it creates safe spaces for growth, unlocks potential, and plants seeds of transformation. We are excited to walk this journey with Miriam and Joy as they step into a new chapter of their lives.

Thank you for believing in them, and in us. Together, we are rewriting stories and shaping brighter futures.
