This project will support 100 teenage mothers who dropped out of school due to early and unintended pregnancy and poverty. Many are eager to continue their education but lack family and financial support to return to school. The project will reintegrate them into high school or vocational training and provide business starter kits, financial literacy, mentorship, and psychosocial support to help them achieve economic independence and rebuild stable futures for themselves and their children.
Teenage pregnancy in Kenya forces thousands of girls to drop out of school due to poverty and lack of parental/guardian support to pay fees. Although many young mothers want to continue their education, they lack financial resources to do so. Without support, some face severe economic vulnerability and risk of exploitation and abuse as they struggle to meet their basic needs. This project will restore the right to education of 100 girls and create pathways to financial independence.
This project will support young mothers to return to high school by covering school fees or enroll in vocational training programs based on their individual goals and circumstances. They will also receive business starter kits, financial literacy training, mentorship, and psychosocial support. These services will help them gain practical skills, rebuild confidence, and develop sustainable income sources that enables them to meet their basic needs and those of their children.
The project will educate and economically empower 100 teenage mothers, helping them to rise out of poverty. They will gain knowledge and practical skills that will enable them to get gainful employment or start small businesses. As a result, the young mothers are expected to achieve financial independence and be able to meet their basic needs and those of their children.
