A one day session was organised for 14 adolescents appearing for 10th and 12thgrades public examination. The programme was organised to help the adolescents especially girls as there is very less motivation from such families to continue schooling. In addition these girls do not have proper support to handle the fears and stress that are involved during exams. The meeting was to help these adolescents emote their fears and plan for their exams to be held in March 2014.
The session focused on do’s and don’ts prior to the examination, during the examination time and after writing each exam. In addition to the discussion there was sharing by senior adolescents of their experiences in writing the exams that helped the participants practically.
Some of the feed backs from the adolescents include;
The Akka’s (sister) sharing helped me. Especially the tip in not sitting and checking after writing the exam whether what I wrote was correct or not with my friends , as this would discourage me to prepare for the next exam.
The tip in how to plan ourselves to prepare for exam, especially after completing household chores and then study was very helpful, as I have to prepare food for my grandfather.
