Buds of Christ has been supporting orphan girls through the educational support programme. The support has helped young girls to pursue higher studies especially in gender dominated and economically deprived community. On Dec 1st, rewards were given to achievers who have topped in their class 10th and 12th board exams among the orphan children supported through Buds of Christ.
On receiving the reward; responses of the children were,
“It gives me a lot of encouragement to achieve more especially when I have been appreciated among my friends for putting my hard efforts“
“Achieving the result was a big challenge, with power cuts and stressful situations at home. But now on receiving the reward I feel proud that I have been able to make it.”
The responses of the care taker- “When my daughter received the reward, I felt very proud to see the smile on her face. The reward is for the strong-will she has despite our difficult circumstances at home”.
Another care taker remarked; “This reward system not only encourages my children, but also motivates us to support them in pursuing their studies”
The reward system was initiated within the programme by Buds of Christ to encourage young girls to continue their studies and also motivate the next generation of young girls to achieve better. So far among the 200 orphan children supported through Buds of Christ around 15 children have progressed to graduation in various disciplines. Buds of Christ extends its heartfelt gratitude to all of its donors and supporters.
