Indhu is a child living with chronic illness that affects her immunity. She is the only child to her parents living in a remote village. She discontinued her studies, when both her parents became sick and bed ridden. As her relatives were not supportive, she had to struggle in taking care of her parents and also manage her own health.
In one of the life skills session at Buds of Christ where she regularly participates, she had expressed her interest in continuing her studies, but could not as her parents were not willing to support her education financially and wanted her to start working. At that time, to instill the hope and courage and to help her gain her confidence in herself Buds of Christ offered to support her by speaking with her parents and enroled her for short–term course and through that she completed her type-writing course in June 2019. Later Buds of Christ facilitated with another grassroots agency to continue her studie in Polytechnic course, which she has joined in this July and is performing well in her studies.
In a meeting recently, she had expressed that she feels much happier and confident after being back to education and now she is also happy she has been able to find a purpose in her life.
Thank you for supporting Buds of Christ, we encourage you to spread this message of hope and courage to orphan rural girls by sharing this report with your friends and families.
