Academic Year-End Highlights
The spring GlobalGiving bonus campaign brought us closer to the goal! Great thanks to all those who participated. $10,115 was raised that will help to cover student expenses.
Graduation Gala Event
The entire school participated in a very full day of celebration for the 48 students who graduated. Parades, dance performances, skits, songs, gift exchange, farewells, congratulatory crowns made by younger students, and blessings from the school’s director and teachers made for a joyful day of festivities.
47 of the 48 graduates will be attending university. Due to this year’s greater focus on STEM (science, technology, education, math) at Dhammajarinee, more students have chosen majors in these fields. This is highly significant, because only 1% of girls in Thailand expect to work in STEM related fields such as information and communications technology. The need for such skilled employees is ever-increasing.
Microsoft Cybersecurity Training
Microsoft Thailand and the Thai Fund Foundation hosted an Introduction to Cybersecurity training at Dhammajarinee. Teachers and 550 students learned how to protect themselves from cyber threats. The course taught essential skills for our girls to stay safe online while at school and in future. After the course, they formed a Cybersecurity Club at the school so all
students can learn these vital skills.
A top Microsoft official, who helped conduct the training, described her experience of the visit as ‘excellent’. On behalf of the training team, she expressed appreciation and joy of interacting with the students. ‘They (the students) showed a great deal of interest in the topic and were actively engaged throughout the entire session, asking many thoughtful questions.”
We look forward to sharing with you news of increased enrollment and many special activities and programs that the students will participate in during the coming year.
Thank you for being a part of Dhammajarinee’s continued success!
