STICKING

Restoring the ancestral landscape is very significant to save the mother earth, create wildlife sanctuary, restore fertility and bring positive impact towards the next generation. The sticking is the activity where tribal members are working together to measure distance of the trees. After measuring the distance, tribal members put a stick on it to know the right place to dig.

DIGGING

The creation of the universe is the beginning of our life. Mother earth gave us the most we need to survive. We want to see the countenance of our Creator through his creation. We need to save the last home of the indigenous peoples, wildlife and culture. For this, the reforestation project is simple way to show  the healing time. Digging activity is very important so that we can plant the seedlings of native trees that shows love to the creator.

SEEDLING TRANSPORTATION

Tribal members and even the presence of women are part of the community survival. Women tried to show and tell the world that they have power to participate in healing the soil and mother earth. Love to see the women help to transport the seedling to the planting site to expedite the planting. Helping together is the best way to give justice to the mother earth. We want to see women and youth as the assets of the communities to heal the mother earth while promoting green economy.

PLANTING

The most exacting part of the activities is the planting. Tribal members involved the planting fast-growing realize the dream of restoring the denuded ancestral landscape.

This activity is very significant to plant the seedlings of the native trees that will heal the soil and the mother fast-growing.

Planting the fast-growing native trees will create wildlife sanctuary, restore soil fertility and produce more water. This is the winning solutions for the tribal communities as they engage in planting.

Tribes and Natures Defenders had been doing great to preserve the rainforest, wildlife and most of all denuded ancestral landscape. We faced challenges like absence of funding to address the call of massive activities to restore the ancestral landscape using the traditional ecological wisdom.

The organization had undergone restoration activity by Planting 3000 native fast growing trees to heal the mother earth through the traditional ecological wisdom.

We pray and hope to access more funding to plant more native fast growing trees to hit our goals to plant 1 million trees until 2030.
