Education of our children

We are very concerned with our children’s learning in the four grups and we make sure that all school age children go to school in the right time at all levels; Nursery, Primary, Secondary and al higher level of learning, we have a lot of rain

The performance of our children was good in the year 2023; most of the children were promoted to their next levels of learning

Instructional material / scholastic materials

These are given to children at the beginning of every year and we did it in 2023, immediately we received funds from our kind donors to aid our children’s learning. It is always done up to the end of term two of learning.

These are; exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, crayons, colored pencils and rubbers.

Uniforms

They are provided once a year. We have not done it right now but we are hoping to do it when we get funds.

Feeding at school

We feed our children on beans and maize on mid-day meals since a hungry child cannot learn

Feeding children at home

The children who stay with the elderly widowed are fed at home because some these elderly are very old and feed some of these elderly are very old, and feed their old grand’s who stay with them

Care for the elderly widowed.

We take care of this group, give them food, check on them and give them food and comfort them when sick, some of them live alone at home last year in RWEN group, and together with the church a small house semi-permanent was constructed. There has been a lot of rain life was not easy

During Christmas time we gave food but we considered this group highly when we received some funds through the River fund

Child headed families

These are the disabled families headed by the children themselves by we are the side parents to the families, mostly due to HIV/AIDs.

Health HIV / AIDs. Long term survival skills

Our women look health. Keep them treated when sick, practice the skills of long term survival skills, get drugs in time, and get counseling by our trained counseling. They are aware of themselves; they have no stress, no stigma, they practice eating balanced diet as trained

Drama

Our tool for sensitization in our communities a lot of education on HIV/AIDs has been realized through this group and are proud of it has encourage self-awareness, discarded stigma among people, wiped away stress and other related fear of HIV/AIDs in our communities

Agriculture

It is our basic activity in our communities, this way we grow different types of food for survival and grow maize, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, ground nuts, cassava, green vegetables and all other food we can eat in our homes

We were happy that there was rain but instead it was too much and some of our crops got spoiled due to a lot of rains

Local goat rearing.

Animals got a lot of grass and they were happy except the weather was very cold for our animals

Local poultry

We practice it too in every home we can have on some small scale eggs to eat and to sell for some little money

Local piggery

We are up again with piggery in some groups but during this period of heavy rain it has been a problem, pigs grow very quickly but they die very quickly, most of the members who rear them have found it hard and have lost their animals.

Home visits

We have kept visiting our people especially the old widowed, child headed families, HIV/AIDs, (PLW) to encourage them, show love, counsel them, encourage the sick to get their drugs in time and make sure they take their drugs. Educate them on balanced diet; encourage them on ways of life.

Tree planting

In our communities life has been very had on the side of preparing or cooking food if you had no firewood or charcoal indeed people have learnt a lot and have planted more trees, to plan for charcoal, firewood and timber.

Day Care Centre.

These have not been up to date due too much rain it is now again very heavy in this January as you know too much of anything becomes bad.

Fees top up

Last year we tried very hard to top up for the very needy now we don’t know what will happen this year of 2024 but we pray to God

Developments.

  1. We were able to send our children to school in time provided food to our child for term one and term two.
  2. Scholastic materials were given to our children and the learning of our child was good, in performance most of our children were promoted to the next level of learning.
  3. In December we were able to provide food to our people more especially to the most needy and elderly was in December around Christmas time when we received funds on 20th December 2023 from our donors God bless you.

Challenges

There is a lot of rain and has spoiled the crops most especially maize and beans have got spoiled. Food will be expensive especially our beans and maize.

We have not given out scholastic materials to our children yet some schools have opened up

Suggestions.

In case funds are realized we should give out scholastic materials, uniforms, food; beans and maize to our children for smooth learning.

Happy New Year
