Dear all,
OnbehalfofAfricaYouthforPeaceandDevelopment, we want to thank you for your support our Economic empowerment of rural women: Snailproject. With your donations, we were able
to do many things that are geared towards realizing the goal of the project below you will see
the various activities
Wearegladtoannouncethatour six women have been able to undergo training for a period of 6 months and have been able to learn so much. The Training Range from Farm management, Snail Farming, Business Management and also Fieldwork. Some of the training was conducted by AYPAD Staff Nuria Badiella and Philip Salis Bangura while also the organization had a volunteer from Italy by the name of Sofia melisi from Universitat Bocconi. The women had to come to the farm on a daily basis for 2 hours a day for Training and one 1 for taking care of the snails.
After the completion of the Training, the six women have also been busy taking care of the snail. We can now say since we commenced we have about 400 matured snails and about 1200 baby snails. We have about 2000+ eggs that are being cared for on a daily basis.
Some of the matured snails were sold to upkeep the farm while also helping in paying for some of the work in the farm.
