JA is working to Preserve the American Spirit! We are doing that by fostering personal responsibility, advancing economic liberty and opportunity, which will ensure our country's long term prosperity. We are accomplishing this mission through business volunteers who go into classrooms and teach K-12th grade students activities about financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. This school year, in metro Denver, 107,000 students will benefit from our programs.
In Colorado, 25% of students, and nearly 40% of minority students fail to graduate each year. A national survey found that 81% of high school dropouts would've made a different decision if they had seen the link between staying in school and a good job. JA offers a solution by providing students with engaging and relevant programs taught by business and community volunteers that help students of all ages make the vital connection between their learning and their future living.
JA is working to create a better future for our young people and for our country through proven programs that make school relevant for kids. We aren't simply telling students that education is important; we are advancing economic liberty and opportunity. We don't merely inform students about financial literacy; we are fostering personal responsibility. We aren't just teaching kids how the free enterprise system works; we are maintaining our country's prosperity.
In addition to teaching critical information for their future success, JA programs improve student attitudes towards school and their future. Last year in Colorado, of students who participated in JA: - 70% of high school students said JA connected what they learned in the classroom to real life - 72% of middle school students said JA made them realize the importance of staying in school - 76% of elementary school students said JA helped them prepare for the future
