Throughout 2026, the Ecoguardians campaign has reached several schools across Argentina to educate children about environmental protection, the impact of wildfires on the ecosystem, and fire prevention strategies.
More than 2,600 children from three Argentine cities welcomed volunteer firefighters and, together with their teachers, participated in workshops and activities designed to train them as Ecoguardians who promote environmental conservation in their communities.
In recent weeks, the provinces of La Rioja and Córdoba were affected by forest and grassland fires, which destroyed more than 2,400 hectares of native forest across both provinces. The fires raged for more than seven days, causing serious damage to the environment and local wildlife. These incidents underscore the need to continue providing training on fire prevention and environmental preservation.
