Ecoguardianes is a new campaign focused on environmental education and forest fires prevention. During the last summer, over 70.000 hectares from the Argentine Patagonian were devastated because of forest fires. With this project, volunteer firefighters will visit schools to teach the children how to avoid forest fires and the importance of the environmental protection for the preservation of climate balance, biodiversity, and their own quality of life.
In recent years, several zones of Argentina, such as the Patagonia and wetlands along its coast, have been affected by forest fires. Their frequency and intensity have increased, severely impacting ecosystems, biodiversity, and communities. Many of these fires are caused by human activities, whether accidental or intentional, highlighting the importance of prevention as a key tool.
"Ecoguardians" is focused on environmental education, so that children understand how forest protection impacts climate balance, biodiversity, and their own quality of life. Volunteer firefighters from all over the country will visit schools to talk with children about the importance of caring our nature and how to prevent forest fires.
Early education is key to prevention, which is why this campaign is specifically designed for primary school students. Children are the ideal audience, as they can adopt new habits and positively influence their families and close circles.
