Through the project, we want to mobilize citizens in the local community in creating a sustainable supply and communication channel with global challenges to make the community sustainable. In our local community, we recognized biodiversity as a development resource. It is a hill Bitovik with forests, pastures, meadows for hiking in nature and reading forest fruits.
The local community in a global challenge is difficult to sustain. Poverty, the lack of infrastructure, the outflow of people into larger centers, and the unsustainability of businesses, make the local community particularly at rural ends on the verge of existence. Local communities have lost themselves in the global world. It is necessary to define development resources in the local community in order to make it sustainable.
In our local community, we recognized biodiversity as a development resource. It is the Bitovik hill with forests, pastures, meadows for hiking in nature and reading of forest fruits, autochthonous products from the community, plums, cheese, kajmak, meat, which locals can offer to tourists, 12th century church and century old oak, Bistric spring which springs from the hills and renews the cellular organism.
The Center for Research and Development Projects "EcoDev" with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia, the Chamber of Commerce and the Tourist Organization of Serbia, awarded the award for sustainable development of tourism "For development" - UN year of sustainable tourism to our initiative: Eco-tour walking Nature Bitovik with which we apply with the project.
