Echoes of the Wild – Project Expansion & Redevelopment Report
June 2025
Overview
In response to shifting economic conditions and rising tariffs on construction materials, Tigers For Tomorrow has made the strategic decision to expand the scope of the Echoes of the Wild initiative. What was originally planned as a straightforward expansion project has evolved into a vital revitalization and redevelopment project as well as an expansion project for the preserve as a whole.
Revitalization and Redevelopment Focus
The redeveloped vision for Echoes of the Wild emphasizes creating more spacious and naturalistic habitats for our animals. Rather than building entirely new enclosures, this phase of the project will focus on integrating and enlarging existing enclosures. This not only improves the quality of life for the animals in our care but also enhances the sustainability and efficiency of preserve operations, and gives us time to locate more reclaimed materials to keep the expansion project moving forward.
Reclaimed Materials for Responsible Growth
In our ongoing effort to manage costs and stay mission-focused, we have sourced 8,000 feet of high-quality reclaimed chain link fencing—available to us at approximately one-quarter the cost of new fencing. The total cost for this fencing is $25,000, a considerable savings that makes this critical infrastructure upgrade more accessible. This fencing will be instrumental in reinforcing the preserve’s perimeter and in building out the area surrounding our quarantine section.
Funding and Timeline
Thanks to the generous support of our donors and partners through GlobalGiving, we will be using some of the funding secured though this campaign to move forward with this first phase of revitalization and expansion. The purchase of the reclaimed fencing will be made using these designated funds. The first phase of the redevelopment project is scheduled to begin by the first week of July 2025.
Looking Forward
As we continue to navigate economic challenges, Echoes of the Wild stands as a testament to our commitment to conservation through preservation and education. By reinvesting in our infrastructure with thoughtful, cost-conscious planning, we are laying the groundwork for long-term sustainability and continued excellence in animal care.
