Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo is facing a critical public health crisis and a dire humanitarian situation, exacerbated by an Ebola outbreak that is spreading at an unprecedented rate. More than 4,500 confirmed cases and more than 2,000 deaths have been recorded, with the virus spreading rapidly to new areas, including a sixth province that has recently been affected.
This project aims to stop the spread of the Ebola virus, overcome mistrust, and combat misinformation. This project will: - Have young people and volunteers go door-to-door and raise awareness in schools and public places - Organize targeted discussions with women, young people, and community leaders to collaboratively develop the public health response - Provide support through networks of healthcare professionals to monitor the emergence of new symptoms and refer patients.
