Background Introduction:
Nepal is massively affected by a devastating earthquake struck with 7.8 magnitude on 25 April at 11:56 local time. It has resulted a large scale damage and huge casualties. The epicenter was located 81 km northwest of Kathmandu - a capital city of the country. The earthquake has caused a number of landslides and avalanches. Strong aftershocks, including a 6.7 magnitude quake on 26 April, continue to threaten the lives of thousands of people and to further damage buildings and infrastructure.
According to initial estimations and based on the latest earthquake intensity mapping, over 8 million people are affected in 39 of Nepal out of 75 districts, and 11 districts are most critically hit with the habitant of 2 million people. Initial reports estimates that, the earthquake caused over 8000 deaths, 15000 injured and other thousands are directly affected by this huge tragedy. These figures are expected to increase as more areas are reached and information becomes available. The Central and Western Region, including the Kathmandu Valley districts, are the worst affected. Many families are compelled to live in fragile and vulnerable homes.
Displacement in urban and rural areas has an immense impact on daily life. Over 600,000 houses have been damaged in which 200000 are completely collapsed as a consequences 2.8 million people have been displaced. Strong tremors have not only damaged infrastructure, including bridges and access roads but also creating continues terror and fearful situation to the people in general. According to the census of 2011, over 40 per cent of the total population affected by massive earthquake in Nepal. It is also estimated that over 3,000 schools are located in the 11 most severely affected districts. Up to 90 per cent of health facilities in rural areas have been damaged. Many temples and heritage sites and public centres have collapsed. Among the over 8 million affected people are approximately 126,000 pregnant women, 21,000 of whom will need obstetric care in the coming three months. Additionally, approximately 40,000 women are at immediate risk of sexual and gender based violence.
It is also estimated that 3.5 million people are in need of food assistance. Impact on agriculture based livelihoods and on food security is expected to be extremely high. In the aftermath of the quakes transport, water supplies and other basic services have been damaged and interrupted. Search, rescue, evaluation and relief supplies are being delivered with limited coverage and capacity.

Raksha Nepal has been supported relief materials to 300 households till date associate with other organizations. In first stage, Raksha Nepal focus and provided relief materials for Kavre, Lalitpur and Dhading districts. All three district's distributed places were very remote and people from backward society (Dalit, Chepang, Tamang,Janajati). As they were claimed they got relief materials first time from us. In Kavre district most of the houses were colapse, we found some old age people still in same places where they crying and apealing for support. They are waiting for state action for their rhabilitation. It was about 45 km far from the Kathmandu and lit bit hilly area as well, most of the people are based in agriculture farming. In Dhading district people from very backward society they had already excluded from mainstream of development and this time they were lost their everything. 100 household were got relief materials, most of the representatives were femals and oldage people as well. This is the hilly districts where most of the houses were colapsed. Likewise, in Lalitpur district of Malta VDC it was also very far from Kathmandu and it was also very remote in hilly area with very tiny way to go there. This community was mixed people such as Tamang, Limbu, Magar and others. We had distributed relief materials for 100 households there. We also distributed relief materials for 50 households of Dalit community in same distrcits in Lalitpur. Chammpa VDC of Lalitpur was also one of the badly colapsed, where we reached and provide them some relief.
In all three districts we had included food and non food items such as rice, oil, lintel, sugar, salt, some emergency medicines, sanitary pad, tent, mats etc in each package for the each households.
