Just a little over 2 weeks since last month's deadly earthquake that killed over 7000 people, injured thousands more, and made thousand homeless, another 7.3 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal on May 12th, 2015. This earthquake has already claimed more than 50 lives in Nepal, and injured over a thousand people. More infrastructures and homes have been destroyed in already devastated communities.
From medical care and food supplies to help with creating new temporary housing/shelters, the Binaytara Foundation’s partners and volunteers are actively working on the ground with the earthquake victims. Our relief efforts have helped the earthquake victims in Kavre, Dhading, Sindhupalchowk, Dang, and Gorkha.
The monsoon season is coming in the next few weeks. People are in need of shelters that stand the rain and the wind. We have distributed some tin roof (known as Jasta in Nepal) for those shelters (see pictures). More people are in need of these roofs. Please support our earthquake relief efforts so that these earthquake victims who lost their houses are protected from the rain during monsoon.
Yesterday’s strong quake has only added to the challenges the mentally and physically devastated people of Nepal have been dealing with for last couple weeks. We need your help in helping the earthquake victims of Nepal.
See attached pictures for details of the services provided.
