Hey, Ya’ll! We’ve got some exciting updates from EG’s newest EVIS (Earth Voice: Inspiring Shift) Program! Back in April, Emmy Scott, Tyler Massias, and Vic Barrett kicked off our EVIS initiative at the Pingry School. They introduced Earth Guardians, shared our inspiring story and impact, and showcased ways for young folks and others to get involved in climate youth activism. At Pingry, we rolled out the first EVIS action planning-based interactive activity for the student body, led by our dynamic Speakers Bureau Director, Tyler, and our Executive Director, Emmy. Vic, one of our revered speakers, delivered a powerful keynote at the school’s general assembly in front of 800 students. It was electrifying to see so many students fired up by our work and the EVIS program!
More recently, Tony Soto, one of our phenomenal speakers, made an appearance at Urban Roots in Minneapolis. He captivated around 90 students with a fantastic presentation, following our EVIS strategy. Tony shared his journey as Earth Guardians Campaign Director and led an interactive storytelling activity that empowered students to advocate for themselves and craft their own narratives. We’re thrilled that EVIS is expanding its reach in the Midwest and will soon inspire students across the continental United States.
Our EVIS-related events have also included three dynamic presentations by Vic Barrett at the Brooklyn Friends School, catering to different age groups, and an impactful presentation by Tony, Emmy, and Tyler at the Children and Nature Network Conference in Madison, Wisconsin, in late May.
Do you believe Earth Guardians can ignite change and inspire young climate leaders at a school near you? Don’t hesitate to reach out to us at tyler@earthguardians.org. Together, we can inspire and mobilize the next generation of environmental champions!
