Preschool began again last week!
Thanks to Ba Futuru's supporters we now have increased our enrollment, and we have 15 low-income children attending our Early Childhood Facility free of charge (up from 10 last school year).
The boost to these children's education and development at this early stage, will reap benefits for them, their families and their communities into the future. Research shows that early childhood education has long-lasting positive effects on children’s all-round development, performance in school, relationships with others, and productivity well into adult life.
Moreover, this school year we are welcoming Bruno Torres to Ba Futuru’s Preschool and After School Program as our international teacher and facility manager. Bruno has a Masters Degree in teaching with a focus on physical education. He specializes in motor skill and physical development and creating new challenges for kids through sport. Bruno has extensive experience working and living in Timor-Leste over the last three years, and we believe Bruno will make a great asset to our team of teachers at Ba Futuru.
Please continue to support the children at Ba Futuru's preschool, and our work to prevent violence and increase positive educational outcomes across Timor-Leste!
