Thousands of children throughout our region can not read, write, or do math proficiently in the third grade. Many of these children are living in neighborhoods that most would not want to visit, that are not safe, clean, or healthy for anyone, let alone children.The impact this has on there brains at an early age can be debilitating throughout their lives.
