On January 1, DoveLewis broke records and treated the most patients ever in a 24-hour period -- a total of 104 animals! Our previous daily record was 96 patients treated on Memorial Day in 2017.
Over New Year's weekend, medical staff treated a total of 261 patients. While there was no overwhelming pattern in the types of injuries or illnesses treated, most animals visited the emergency room due to excessive vomiting as a result of various issues.
To assist with our continued increase in patients, DoveLewis has hired three new veterinary doctors and one additional surgeon. Dr. Carrie Daly, Dr. Becca Falender, and Dr. Meghan Carlton will be joining our medical staff in the emergency room and intensive care unit, while Dr. Andrea Sundholm joins the surgery team.
