Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam that must be met by the Muslims who meet certain criteria. Zakat is a blessing, symbolising purity, kindness, and a contribution to the development of entitled recipients. At JAAGO, we are aiming to raise donations/Zakat (Muslim obligatory charity) for underprivileged students to support their education and provide them with books, stationery, healthy food, uniforms, school bags etc. Currently, JAAGO is educating 4500 students across 11 schools in Bangladesh.
Lack of quality education is a primary factor preventing poverty-stricken families from opportunities for growth. Without quality education, the underprivileged are unable to unlock their full potential and end up begging on the streets. These children often drop out of school, engage in child labour or get married early. In the long run, they face negative consequences in their physical, cognitive and social development.
JAAGO Foundation collects Zakat and uses it carefully to ensure a long-lasting and transformative impact. By contributing Zakat, you can help children conquer their dreams through education. Your generosity will allow us to sustain our efforts in making a difference for the marginalised children in the communities. In Islam, Zakat has emerged as a vital component within these communities and could play a major role in sustainable economic development by helping society to alleviate poverty.
Due to extreme poverty, the children of the targeted families often drop out of school, engage in child labour or get married early. In the long run, they face negative consequences in their physical, cognitive and social development. Our initiative will provide them with the necessary support for their future through education. It will help the children to get educated and have a sustainable future.
