Drug and substance abuse is destroying the lives of many youths and families in Rusape, Zimbabwe, yet there is no local rehabilitation facility to support recovery. Rusape and it's surrounding rural areas are facing increasing levels of drug and substance abuse, particularly among young people. Commonly abused substances include alcohol, illicit drugs, and prescription medicines. Currently, there is no dedicated rehabilitation facility in Rusape, forcing affected individuals and families to seek help in distant urban centers, which is often financially and logistically impossible.
The solution is to establish a community-based drug and substance rehabilitation facility in Rusape that provides accessible counseling, treatment, and psychosocial support. By offering local, affordable rehabilitation services and community outreach programs, individuals can recover, reintegrate into society, and reduce substance abuse-related harm
