Respected Donor,
Wishes from SERUDS

Corona Happens and then the Lockdown Happens. In the countless stories of feeding the hungry, this one will remain close to the heart long after Corona Virus pandemic comes to an end. Never imagined the power of a virus until Corona happened. Irrespective of where you are from, we all need only thing - it’s not food, it’s not water and it’s not anything that is perishable. We Need Each Other! A measurement is essential for future planning and forecasting when you are in the middle of a crisis which we are in now.

In midst of a lockdown and a bandh in Kurnool, the SERUDS team of 12 under the leadership of Mallikarjuna Gorla, after 3 days of procurement and packaging efforts and conducting a preliminary assessment of families which are hit the worst due to the current pandemic the first 110 beneficiary families can now breath some relief to sustain their families.

Thanks for giving opportunity to work for Covid Relief work of the daily wage workers. With your donations we are feeding the hungry by donating groceries kits. We have an appetite to help and feed the appetite of the needy but we will soon be falling short but until then we keep doing what we started. A token system was introduced and issued to the families which are hurting the most and were validated at 6AM on April 3rd in Budhavarapeta, Kurnool to distribute the groceries and essentials. The key beneficiaries in this group of 110 include SLUM DWELLERS, AUTO DRIVERS, CONSTRUCTION LABOR, LABOR FROM MARKET YARDS. Relief Support included 5 Kg Rice, 1Kg Sugar, 1kg Salt, 1 Ltr Oil, 1 KG Atta, 1 Kg Dal, 4 Dettol Soaps, Handwash, Masks, Sanitizers in equivalent of Rs.1950.

We served by making 150plus meals every day and distributing every day at the public places, road side to the poor and homeless is not an easy task by any means and needs patience and perseverance and that comes natural to all of us. This we have done one week in the last week of March 2020. Our volunteers & staff always bring so much energy and it gives us a lot of happiness when the next generation take the chances to make a difference.

We are all extending our vision and benevolence to help impact and benefit the slum dwellers in various locations. On a recent visit to a railway station road, we have distributed and emphasized on the importance of Sanitation which included Masks, Water, Sanitizers and Hand Washes to the homeless people.

Many of the places, migrant workers and daily wage worker families haven’t received any support as they are slightly off the beaten path and that’s where we will keep supporting and extending our covid-19 relief.

Thank you for donating to covid19 pandemic relief initiative through GlobalGiving Foundation. Your generous support needed to donate groceries kits to the daily wage earners of meagre income jobs and migrant workers
