We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous and continued support toward the well-being of deprived and underprivileged patients receiving treatment at the Government General Hospital in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. Your kindness is helping us bring hope and comfort to those battling illnesses under extremely challenging circumstances.

The patients we assist come from various remote rural villages in Kurnool and Ananthapur districts of Andhra Pradesh, as well as parts of Mahabubnagar District in Telangana State. These individuals often belong to marginalized communities and struggle to afford even the most basic medical necessities during their hospital stay.

Since 2009, SERUDS has been implementing a Nutritious Diet Program to support such patients. As part of our regular outreach activities, we identify patients suffering from various ailments in the Neurology Ward, Gynecology Ward, Pediatric Ward, Burns Ward, and other critical departments of the hospital. Our dedicated team ensures they receive essential nutritious food to aid their recovery. The nutritious diet includes:

• Branded quality milk for strength and energy
• Seasonal fruits rich in vitamins and minerals
• Milk or wheat bread for nourishment

Many of these patients are not only struggling with health conditions but also lack the financial resources to purchase medicines or even daily food. In addition to providing nutritious meals, we also distribute bedsheets and blankets to help them rest more comfortably during their recovery. This support significantly contributes to their physical and emotional well-being.

Each batch of our program benefits around 50 poor patients at a time, and we have witnessed remarkable improvements in their health and morale. Many patients, along with their families, express deep gratitude for this support, sharing how the timely nutritious meals and care have helped them recover faster and regain strength.

We are thrilled to share that our nonprofit organization has been recognized as a Project of the Month, Top Ranked, Effective, and Vetted Charity by Nonprofit GlobalGiving (a 501c3 tax-deductible charitable organization) for the years 2019–2021. This recognition is a testament to the impact of our initiatives and the unwavering support of generous patrons like you.

In the districts of Ananthapur and Kadapa, many patients rely on the Government General Hospital for medical care, especially those who cannot afford private healthcare. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of patients seeking treatment at Kurnool Hospital surged significantly. For many of these individuals, Government Hospitals remain their only hope for recovery due to their extreme financial constraints.

This initiative holds critical importance for the most disadvantaged individuals, especially in the drought-affected areas of Kurnool District, where people suffer from contaminated water and fluoride-related health issues. Many patients and their attendants reside near the hospital temporarily while recovering from illnesses or undergoing treatments. Pregnant women often come to the hospital for delivery, and after welcoming their newborns, they return to their hometowns. These families, belonging to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, often endure starvation during their hospital stays, adding to their already overwhelming struggles.

For the past six years, SERUDS has been dedicated to addressing this issue by providing nutritious diets to impoverished patients in hospitals. Understanding their dire need for sustenance during critical times, we distribute food kits in batches to 50 patients at a time. Each kit includes milk, biscuits, seasonal fruits, and bread—basic yet vital items to support their recovery.

This initiative is a lifeline for patients who, due to poverty, often cannot afford even basic medicines or nutritious food. Through your generous sponsorship, we can extend this support to those in need, giving them the strength and hope to recover and rebuild their lives.
