Carego International provides desperately needed medical services including medical consultations, lab services, and prescriptions in Kenya. Donations also support the wages of community health care workers as well as the continuing education of the the Kayole Rehabilitation Centre for Girls.
The consequences of insufficient health resources in Sub-Saharan Africa are dire. Every year 500,000 women die from complications related to pregnancy and childbirth, 3 million babies are stillborn and 2.9 million people die from HIV/AIDS, according to figures from WHO. Our established clinic in Kayole Kenya is also associated with the Kayole Rehabilitation Centre for Girls which takes in street girls ages 2-18 and provides education and care.
Each level of donation provides all levels of healthcare for Kenyans and assists the girls of the Kayole Rehabilitation Centre to a continuing education that will teach them a marketable vocation as well as provide room and board.
Our mission is to build a health care organization that sets the standard for reliable and accessible outpatient health care in Africa as well as deliver the tools to create a better life for the girls once cast aside. We are committed to a self-sustaining model to improve health care and local economy in each community we serve.
