Mrs. Olga contacted Fundación Patronato to request support for her daughter Emma, who had been diagnosed with polydactyly in one of her hands and required specialized surgery. During the process, she expressed the concern and anguish she was experiencing as a mother, since despite the efforts made through the health insurance provider (EPS), it had not been possible to obtain authorization for the surgery. In addition, Emma had already begun to experience physical discomfort that affected her well-being and daily activities.
Thanks to the support and guidance provided by Fundación Patronato, it was possible to arrange the surgery Emma needed, allowing her to begin a favorable recovery process and significantly improve her quality of life. This case demonstrated how solidarity and concrete actions can transform the lives of children and adolescents, bringing hope, well-being, and new opportunities to families who need them most.
