Send Children with Cerebral Palsy to School

There was a time when society acted as if it had the right to abandon, forget, deny and look pitying at people with cerebral palsy. Nonconforming, as a society we seek humanity among ourselves. Since its inception in 2001, the School of Conducted Education has maintained a task to contact, accompany, monitor learning and educational routines for children and youth with Cerebral Palsy. During the pandemic, the school's priority was for students at the ConNosotros Educational Center to continue in activities that strengthen them for their processes of motor, cognitive, and social physical development. During confinement, students with cerebral palsy at our school have gained from being present in life, despite the disability they live in. We made every effort to ensure that everyone had an instrument of connectivity and access to data to prepare for their zoom sessions, remote connectivity to continue the school. We resort to tablet loans, data purchases, direct advice to families, assembly of special furniture for education conducted for each child in their home, activities where with due precautions, they were carried out by the team of teachers. Some families got support from neighbors, family, and friends to connect, getting tablets, laptops, or cell phones on loans. Two teachers visited families who struggled to open sessions, place the device, operate the microphone and zoom room camera, among other situations, as remote connectivity requires necessary technical knowledge that is sometimes very new knowledge for many adults (students and family members) at school. On the other hand, with the necessary permanence and presence of relatives we have achieved that the formation of families and connectivity for 95% of students. We still have two families who, due to work schedule issues, have found it difficult to maintain their children's connection and we are looking for a possible way. The School of ConNosotros carried out a very important event assigning to the loan to each family a set of furniture and special instruments to carry out the routines of education conducted Furniture Peto. This fact allowed us to achieve the following achievement: families have been intensely involved in facilitating the learning of targeted education, a very specific model of work. The Association Council also made a financial effort, because free-zoom sessions only last an hour and families had to re-enter, causing chaos. The Council of the association decided to acquire a zoom domain for ConNosotros and all the inherent activities. The sessions are now two to three hours a day. All students gather in the zoom portal, recognizing themselves as school members and the teacher who manages divides groups by school grades. Each teacher works and then joint activities are carried out. A new way of living together has begun. It is important to note that we are a civil association that maintains contact with government authorities for special education in the state of Morelos. And at the last meeting we realized that we are the only school that has daily sessions with its students, talking about students who follow special education programs. 2020 has been declared a year of great challenges. Acts of presence. Because of the social estinement we have not managed to carry out extracurricular activities. However, imagination and the desire to open the world to new perspectives through Education Conducted do not stop. We program and carry out a series of weekly Webinars in which we invite specialists, participated the teachers, students and friends of Con Nosotros, analyzing various processes in which the association has participated: art, theater, inclusive education, all as part of the model of Education Conducted as axis. These webinars were conducted via Zoom and broadcast on Facebook Live, thus making an appearance at the commemorations of World Disability Day and World Cerebral Palsy Day. We participated in the December Giving Tuesday donation campaign, which allowed the team to join on a day of constant presence through social media. With a program of activities teachers, students and friends of Con Nosotros, we were present encouraging to make donations through social networks. Donations came slowly, but it was exciting to admire the coordinated work and will that everyone added up to. We also perform the raffle of a TV Screen to get resources. The School needs everyone's support to continue. In Con Nosotros, A.C., many efforts have been made to ensure that the word learning takes on new and very satisfactory dimensions.
