After finalizing our teaching materials in April, the project period funded by the FEB ("Förderprogramm Entwicklungspolitische Bildung") came to an end. In this context, we can proudly announce that we have been working on the conception of a follow-up project, again in cooperation with the FEB.
From June to August, Visions for Children then visited the schools in Hamburg that used the created materials in their classes. This allowed the pupils to report first-hand on their experiences and to ask remaining questions about our work.
Thank you very much for making the implementation of our domestic project possible!
Through this we were able to give important impulses for development policy contents in school lessons. We are convinced that if children encounter these issues early on in their school careers, it can have a lasting impact on their view of the world. They become capable of reflecting their own position and privileges and they can pass their knowledge on to their environment.
Hopefully you are as excited about our follow-up project as we are! We will keep you posted.
All the best and thanks again,
Hila Limar, Chairwoman of VfC, answering questions
Finally, the developed teaching materials have been implemented graphically - the result turned out even better than we imagined! If you speak German, you can view and download the teaching material here. In addition to the graphic implementation, we presented the finished teaching materials to the teachers and passed on important didactic tips at a training session in April in cooperation the Hamburg Teachers' Institute.
And now it's uo to you! If you have friends who teach 9th and 10th grade politics or social studies at German schools, make them aware of our learning materials - we'd like to distribute them as widely as possible!
Thank you so much in advance and of course we'll keep you posted on the further developments of the project!
Together with committed teachers, we finalized the concept, structure and time plan for the preparation of exciting and didactical teaching materials for Hamburg schools during two conception workshops.
June - October 2021: Creation of teaching materials
The concepts that had been developed during the workshops in May have been concretised: In cooperation with 8 volunteer teachers, we created the content and structure of our teaching materials.
October 2021 - January 2022: Graphic realization
The teaching materials were graphically realised in the most appealing and educational way possible.
We are very happy that our project to bring German pupils closer to the topic of development cooperation is progressing - each and everyone of you made this possible! Your support is not a matter of course and we are very grateful for it.
We are very much looking forward to the upcoming months. For the end of February, an in-service training day is planned in cooperation with the Hamburg Teachers' Institute. The materials will be presented to the teachers and important didactic tips will be passed on. In March and April we then want to make as many schools as possible aware of our teaching materials!
For that reason, we continue to rely on your support. We'd be very happy if you shared our work with your colleagues or family and friends. Furthermore, you can ensure our ability to act with a sponsoring membership starting at 8€ per month.
