We would like to extend our heart felt thanks to all of the contributors and supporters over the holidays! One of our requirements from GlobalGiving is that we must provide our donors with quarterly reports on the project that you donated to, which of course is the Does HIV Look Like Me? Canada Campaign. If you wish to receive additional updates on what our organization is up to and to hear from our global ambassadors, please be sure to sign up for our newsletter here.
This year we completed our Facebook campaign that addresses the issue of criminalization and HIV, we invite you to like us on facebook to see the campaign and be apart of the conversation. You can also view our webpage dedicated to the campaign and the issues—you will find lots of great information and resources there. It is a complicated issue but science has proven that crimilization is not affective, and could quite possibly be fueling the epidemic—I invite you to watch this great TED talk by Shereen El-Feki: How to fight an epidemic of bad laws to better understand it.
Please do sign up for our newsletter here, like us on facebook, and follow us on twitter for up to date information on HIV, our campaigns, and everything else in the news around HIV.
PROJECT UPDATE
Our planned campaign for the Does HIV Look Like Me? Canada project requires a budget of $100,000, so our donations to date have not enabled us to hire staff and really kick off the project. In the meantime, we continue to raise awareness about the organization are partnering with local and national organizations to gain letters of support, and working with our volunteers to develop the amazing content of our online campaigns.
We are hoping for continued support, and encourage you to donate and share the information about our amazing project. All the links to share are provided below. Every little bit counts. All donations made in the US receive and tax receipt.
We are excited to begin this journey to create our next generation of leaders, and help Canadians understand the HIV epidemic today.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions about the project. Stay tuned for our next report which you will be provided in a few months!
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you can receive an email when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports without donating.
