Summary

This project will provide immediate relief and support to families affected by Super Typhoon Fung-Wong in the Philippines. Homes were damaged and destroyed while electricity, water and communications were cut in most areas. Farmers and Fishermen lost livelihoods while children slept on classroom floors. Families urgently need food, water, shelter materials, hygiene kits, and medical supplies. Your support will help rebuild the lives of these families, especially the children.

Challenge

Typhoon Fung-wo created a humanitarian crisis in the Philippines. Thousands of families lost homes and livelihood and remain displaced in overcrowded evacuation centers that have no electricity, water, or communications. These centers are overcrowded and risk disease outbreaks for both adults and children. Landslides block roads, preventing relief access. Agricultural losses threaten food security for thousands of families. Without immediate relief, families are at-risk of starvation.

Solution

We provide immediate life-saving relief and long-term recovery. Emergency response includes food packs, clean water, shelter kits, hygiene supplies, and medical care for the displaced families. Road clearing operations will restore access to isolated barangays so more aid can be delivered an distributed among the survivors. Livelihood support gives fishing gear and farming tools to the affected families thereby restoring the economy in the community.

Long-Term Impact

Beyond immediate relief, this project will strengthen and improve future disaster response capacity of the Disaster Risk and Reduction Unit of the affected provinces. Communities adopt early warning systems and evacuation protocols while families avoid debt traps and permanent displacement. Documented best practices replicate across typhoon-prone regions and creates resilient communities ready for future storms.
