"Grateful for the grant funding from NCPA Foundation. When Hurricane Helene passed through our small, rural, Steinhatchee community it destroyed my pharmacy completely. We lost everything - furniture, equipment, inventory, the building itself... This grant is helping me reestablish in a temporary location until I can build my new pharmacy and building in its original location. There are many low income and elderly people I serve in this community, being able to support them during this disaster recovery has been meaningful but also difficult. Every little bit helps not just me, but my community also."

The following are images of Chirag's pharmacy after the disaster struck as well as photos of his temporary location where he is now.
NCPA Foundation has made grants to 14 pharmacies following Hurricanes Helene and Milton, alone. That is already the same amount of pharmacies supported last year and only accounts for 2 disasters! This has been a devastating year for independent community pharmacies who are recovering from disasters. As we look ahead, we are hoping to start a fund that will also support disaster response. So that pharmacies who support their communities on the ground aren't just doing so from their own resources, but with support leveraged from donors like you. Many people aren't aware of the extent that independent pharmacies go through in times of disaster to support their community. We hope to do a better job of telling their stories.
