Summary

Indonesia is highly susceptible to natural disasters due to its geographical location in an active tectonic zone and as an archipelagic country which is vulnerable to various types of disasters, including: earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, floods, landslides and droughts. Asar Humanity responds to catastrophes by working alongside the local government and with volunteers that are part of KSATRIA. This includes search and rescue impacted residents, handling survivors, and recovery.

Challenge

It is an undeniable fact that residents of natural disaster-prone areas that lack proper infrastructure and are located far from the city center must wait a long time to be rescued. We believe that the local people are best equipped to respond to crises as soon as possible. On the other hand, it is frequently discovered that residents of places vulnerable to disasters lack knowledge about emergency rescue procedures, rescue fleet constraints, available resources, and equipment limits.

Solution

Asar Humanity and KSATRIA collaborate with government authorities to effectively manage disasters by empowering and training local volunteers to become qualified first responders. The goal of this project is to raise funds for the provision of the fleet of emergency and to provide equipment for rescue and disaster management personnel. By supplying this fleet of disaster response, aiming Asar Humanity and KSATRIA will be able to work more rapidly and efficiently to handle affected communities

Long-Term Impact

With the availability of disaster fleets and equipment, Asar Humanity and KSATRIA may continue to offer regular training volunteers and local communities of disaster-prone areas even in the absence of crises. As a result, a culture will be developed that comprehends, is aware of, and reacts to calamities.
