On the path to autonomy

By Francesco Bucci | Tukuy Pacha director

Dear friend and donor,

At Tukuy Pacha, we believe that the most profound changes often begin behind closed doors, inside the homes of the families we serve.

Take the example of Maria, a determined woman from Cliza; when we first met her, the idea of navigating the busy local market felt impossible. Through consistent in-home sessions, we worked together on social interaction and basic commerce skills. Now she has been able to start selling groceries in the local community market.

Our work in the last months put strong emphasis in promoting spaces of inclusive governance, on topic like health and social public policies.

  • Along with strategic partners like Mission Inclusion and the Don Carlo Gnocchi Foundation, we grounded this action providing sanitary equipment to five health facilities of rural communities in Cliza and Arani.
  • A key event has been the second official session of the departmental council of people with disabilities, organized with public and civil society organizations

As a constant baseline, we highlight the capacity building of local organizations of people with disabilities, held with monthly workshops about sustainability, advocacy and public government functioning.

The aim to expand the borders of our action, and get in contact with the most in need, it’s a strong motivating factor for us. Much more can be achieved together: thank you for your generous support.

Please donate now and keep this march going on.
