Through the PDCIS – Program for Development and Integrated Sustainable Growth , a social initiative of the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation, girls and women in rural areas have gained access to quality education tailored to the realities of rural life. The program supports them in developing personal, social, and productive skills, empowering them to become protagonists of their own stories. As a result, they achieve dignity, autonomy, and real opportunities for transformation—not only in their own lives but also within their communities.
This effort is directly aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5) of the UN’s 2030 Agenda, which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. By promoting socioeconomic and educational empowerment of women in rural areas, PDCIS contributes to reducing structural inequalities, challenging gender stereotypes, and encouraging female participation in decision-making and local leadership roles.
The PDCIS reinforces the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation's commitment to female empowerment, educational equity, and sustainable development in the countryside of Brazil, positioning rural women as central agents of change within their communities
