Dignifying Roads. Displaced Women Mexico /
By Fundación San Ignacio de Loyola, Mexico
Violence paths
The number of people in forced mobility continues to increase in Mexico. Over the last decade, from 2014 to 2024, irregular migration has increased by 552%.
The routes used by migrants to cross Mexican territory involve risks of violence, extortion, and discrimination; as a result, many women, teens, and girls are vulnerable and require humanitarian support during the months of travel until they reach a safe destination.
Priority: Women Victims of Violence
This project, aimed at women and girls who have been forced to migrate, is carried out under the principles of accompanying, serving, defending, and protecting this vulnerable population.
Our goal is to provide comprehensive support to women and girls who, due to death threats, violence, and economic hardship, have had to leave their country of origin and cross borders to reach Mexican territory, thus becoming migrants, displaced persons, and refugees. In 2024, approximately 6,500 women and girls were assisted, receiving psycho-emotional support, legal advice, food, temporary shelter, and humanitarian aid in kind.
Thogether, we dignify their path
Join the project to strengthen solidarity and support for women and girls who bravely face a hostile world every day and struggle to survive in conditions of violence, discrimination, and exclusion. Thanks to your support, we can continue to dignify their lives and accompany them on their journey through Mexico.
