This project will establish 10 women-led telehealth hubs and mini-emergency clinics in flood-prone villages of Kasur. Through a new mobile app, SehatSister, women and girls will be provided access to telemedicine, health information, and emergency support. Local girls and youth will be trained by YAC and Alkhair Hospital as health responders, providing effective methods for ensuring safe, rapid, and reliable access to care during floods and beyond.
Flood-affected villages in Kasur face severe barriers to women's health: damaged roads, inaccessible clinics, and not enough information on reproductive, maternal, and menstrual health. Pregnant women and adolescent girls have particularly high vulnerability, with a limited amount of access to emergency care or telemedicine, or even a trained health responder, leading to high risks of preventable illnesses and maternal complications.
The project will establish 10 women-led mini clinics and telehealth hubs in the flood-affected villages of Kasur. Through the SehatSister app, women and girls can avail teleconsultations, health information, and emergency support. YAC and Alkhair Hospital will train local girls and youth as health responders, ensuring timely care, maternal support, and improved community health during floods and beyond.
This project will ensure continued access to health services for 10,000 flood-affected women and girls in Kasur through the provision of sustainable telehealth services by training local girls and youth as health responders along with the SehatSister app. The communities can also expect improved maternal and reproductive health, quicker emergency responses, and better preparedness against any future floods.
