In Japan, over 100 families applied for just 18 spots in our Digital Scholarship - free laptops, Wi-Fi, and weekly mentorship for children who need them most. Your donation opens a spot for a child still waiting.
Japan is the world's fourth-largest economy - yet 1 in 7 children lives in poverty. For 1.85 million children, a computer is a luxury. Half of low-income families don't own one. 300,000+ students have stopped attending school. These children don't lack talent - they lack tools and community. When we opened 18 Digital Scholarship spots, over 100 families applied. We turned away children simply because we didn't have enough laptops. Every child turned away is a future left undiscovered.
Our Digital Scholarship delivers a laptop, Wi-Fi, and a full support system to each child's home - free. Children join online sessions 3x/week, learn coding, music, video, and 3D design, and receive mentoring from engineers at Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. 107 children enrolled since 2022. 92.3% report greater self-confidence. 95.3% say mentoring changed how they see their future. 91% stay in the program. Every child who took Japan's programming certification passed - at every level.
We don't just teach coding - we help children discover they can do things they never imagined. 92.3% say their "I can do this!" moments increased. 90.4% now research answers on their own. Our dropout rate is just 9%. One child with autism, on public assistance, found friends and is now tackling advanced programming. Their mother said: "I can see my child's abilities blooming. For the first time, I see a light ahead." Your support helps us grow from 107 to 200 children next year.
