Update on the progress report on

By Samuel Akaraonye | Founder/CEO

This report provides an update on the progress of the GreenPack: Empowering Nigeria's Next Generation project (ID: 54330). The project is committed to promoting environmental sustainability, circular economy practices, youth empowerment, and green entrepreneurship by transforming waste into valuable resources while creating opportunities for young people and local communities.

Despite the absence of external funding during this reporting period, we remain dedicated to advancing our mission through innovation, volunteer efforts, and the support of our social enterprise.

2. . Appreciation to GlobalGiving

We sincerely appreciate GlobalGiving for providing a trusted platform that enables grassroots organizations to share their vision with a global community of supporters.

Although we have not yet received external donations for this project, we are grateful for the opportunity to showcase our work and remain hopeful that our mission will inspire future partnerships and donor support.

3. . Funding Status

During this reporting period, the project did not receive any external financial donations.

Nevertheless, we continued to invest our own resources through our social enterprise to keep the project moving forward. Our commitment to environmental sustainability and youth empowerment remains unwavering.

4. . Project ActivitiesGreenPack Innovation

We continued to develop environmentally friendly packaging solutions using sustainable and locally available materials. Our objective is to reduce plastic pollution while promoting affordable green alternatives.

Youth Empowerment

The project continues to inspire young people to embrace environmental stewardship, innovation, and entrepreneurship through practical learning and awareness initiatives.

Community Environmental Awareness

We promoted awareness on responsible waste management, recycling, resource recovery, and sustainable environmental practices within our communities.

Food Innovation & Training Hub (FIT-Hub)

Through our Food Innovation & Training Hub (FIT-Hub), we continue to integrate sustainability, environmental education, and circular economy principles into our training programmes, preparing young people with practical green skills.

5. . Social Enterprise Support

Although external funding has not yet been received, our social enterprise continues to sustain aspects of the project through in-kind contributions, research, innovation, volunteer engagement, and technical development.

Over the past three years, our innovation activities have demonstrated our commitment to developing practical, sustainable solutions that benefit both people and the environment. We continue investing our time, expertise, and limited resources while preparing for larger-scale implementation as funding becomes available.

6. . Estimated Impact

Even without external financial support, the project has continued to make encouraging progress.

Community Reach

  • Approximately 30–50 individuals reached through environmental awareness and sustainability education.
  • 10–20 youths engaged in discussions and learning activities related to green innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • Increased community awareness of waste reduction, recycling, and sustainable resource management.

Innovation Progress

  • Continued research and development of environmentally friendly GreenPack solutions.
  • Strengthened planning for future pilot production and community implementation.
  • Expanded collaboration with volunteers and local stakeholders interested in environmental sustainability.

7. Challenges

The greatest challenge remains the lack of external funding to expand research, pilot production, equipment acquisition, training programmes, and community outreach.

Additional financial support will enable us to accelerate implementation and create greater environmental and social impact.

8. . Prospects and Future Plans

In the coming months, we aim to:

  • Launch pilot production of GreenPack sustainable packaging solutions.
  • Expand environmental education and youth engagement activities.
  • Train more young people in recycling, green entrepreneurship, and circular economy practices.
  • Strengthen partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations, and environmental stakeholders.
  • Scale GreenPack into a sustainable social enterprise capable of creating jobs while reducing environmental pollution.

We remain optimistic that future donor support will help transform these plans into lasting impact for communities across Nigeria.

9.  Conclusion

Although we have not yet received external financial support, our commitment to environmental sustainability and youth empowerment remains strong. Through innovation, volunteerism, and the continued support of our social enterprise, we are laying a solid foundation for future growth and impact.

We sincerely thank GlobalGiving for providing this platform and look forward to partnering with supporters who share our vision of building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for Nigeria's next generation.

With sincere gratitude,

Rosita Agomuo
