Digital Futures is a youth empowerment project in Kenya that trains 300 unemployed youth in Artificial Intelligence, digital literacy, freelancing, and job readiness skills. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and career support, the project connects youth to employment, remote work, and entrepreneurship opportunities, helping them build sustainable incomes and participate in the global digital economy.
Youth unemployment in Kenya is a major challenge, especially in rural and underserved areas. Many young people complete school but lack practical digital and technical skills needed for today's job market. As AI and digital work grow globally, most youth are unprepared to access these opportunities due to limited training, mentorship, and career guidance, leading to unemployment and low-income informal work.
This project will solve youth unemployment by equipping 300 young people with practical AI, digital literacy, and job-ready skills. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and career guidance, participants will gain access to freelancing, remote work, internships, and employment opportunities. This bridges the gap between education and the digital job market, enabling youth to earn income and build sustainable careers.
This project will create a long-term pipeline of digitally skilled youth who can access global job opportunities in AI, freelancing, and remote work. Graduates will become financially independent, reducing unemployment and poverty in their communities. Over time, it will build a stronger local digital economy, increase entrepreneurship, and position youth as contributors to Kenya's growing technology-driven workforce.
