Summary

Since 2017, EACD has supported 150+ children in a rural village near Faisalabad. Three desktop computers placed in Village1 in 2020 transformed outcomes - 50 children now read and spell English with strong confidence, and grades have risen across subjects. A new 5,000 sq ft Career Learning Center is now being built in Village1, set to open in six months - with empty rooms. We need 8 computers: 4 to replace the worn 2020 desktops, 4 for the new center. Help us equip it and keep the momentum going

Challenge

Rural Pakistan lags far behind in digital access. Children near Faisalabad, where EACD serves, are born into generational poverty - not from lack of intelligence, but lack of access. Without a computer, a child here will likely never touch one. Pakistan ranks among the lowest in South Asia for digital literacy, and many children have never used a keyboard or browser. This gap cuts them off from opportunity, leaving them behind - not for lack of ability, but investment.

Solution

With GlobalGiving funds, EACD will install eight computers in the new Career Learning Center - four for the new center in Village 1, four replacing the original 2020 desktops now serving Village 2. Each will include keyboards, mice, and accessories for reliable use. We'll run structured courses in computer basics, Office, internet safety, and coding, with afternoon batches for students and evening access for women - multiplying impact across a community of both Christian and Muslim families.

Long-Term Impact

This project will directly benefit 150+ children and youth in year one, with the lab serving multiple batches ongoing. Graduates receive a certificate of completion, boosting employability and academic prospects. Girls and young women - facing the greatest barriers to digital access - will be prioritized. Over time, the lab becomes a permanent community resource, training hundreds yearly, building on the confidence and literacy gains already seen since 2020.
